Plowing & planting for 2009

Well the plowing & planting for 2009 has started. I am putting in another food plot where I found a lot of rubs in a pine thicket last year. I put out a small feeder and will have to get some salt later. I will plant this area with cow peas, soybeans, some clover & some kind of beans this coming weekend.

This area is kind of open so the food plot should do well here.

There is a lot of honeysuckle all over the place. No wonder there is so much deer sign here.

Hunting Season for 08 is over!!!

Hunting Season for 08 is over. We have meat in the freezer but no bucks this year. I know where they are hanging out now though. Got some of them on camera. Will see next year!!! I had my cameras out before hunting season to catch big bucks so I would know where to hunt and all I was getting was does & little bucks. Now that season is over the big boys start showing up. They better look out next year. ;<)

Another nice buck!!!

I think this is the buck that we have been looking for the last 3 years in this one area!!! We see his tracks all over this area where we have 2 stands but no one has ever seen him til now. I just love my trail cameras.

I know where I will be bow hunting next year. ;<)

In this picture the batteries were getting low & a spider thought I needed a web over the lens.

I put a camera on a gut pile to see what I could catch. So far only crows, buzzards & Coyotes.

08 hunting

So far the 08 hunting season has been good for Willene & I. I got a doe 2nd day of black powder season. Opening day of gun season Willene got a nice doe 110 lbs. On the second day of gun season I got a 105 lb doe. All together there has been 12 deer taken. 6 bucks & 6 does. The bucks just started making rubs & scraps last week so looks like the rut is about to get started. I havent seen much deer sign down in the bottoms like I did last year so I might have to start looking fot the hogs. I know where they are roaming.I have some corn all ready to go for them. It has been working for about a month now. I will put it out when I go back down Thanksgiving week. Here is a picture of a little spike I got with one of my trail camera.
